Hello,
This is MacDonald Don Nyirongo, Founder and CEO of Warm-Hearted Connections Inc. Our nonprofit organization, guided by our dedicated board members and volunteers, is committed to making a difference by establishing and supporting projects that provide educational supplies to rural and underserved schools across Sub-Saharan Africa.
We have an active presence in Malawi and work closely with partner organizations such as Muula Community Initiative to extend our reach and impact. Our goal is to address the persistent challenges of illiteracy, poverty, hunger, and disease, which remain significant barriers to quality education in countries like Malawi, Burundi, and Zambia. While global progress since 2000 has been encouraging, with the number of out-of-school children nearly halved, there is still much work to do. Today, 58 million children remain out of school globally, and around 100 million do not complete primary education. The world’s poorest children are four times more likely not to attend school and five times more likely not to finish primary education compared to their wealthier peers according to UNESCO’s 2015 EFA Global Monitoring Report.
We believe that access to quality education is not only a fundamental right but also a pathway to sustainable development, dignity, and social inclusion. By partnering with other stakeholders already working to advance educational standards, we can create meaningful change in the lives of those who need it most.
The challenges in Sub-Saharan Africa are interconnected as illiteracy, poverty, hunger, and disease reinforce one another in a vicious cycle. A visit to these regions beyond the popular tourist destinations reveals the pressing needs of schools and hospitals in local communities. Our programs aim to support national strategies for achieving high-quality education standards. While our primary focus is on elementary schools, we also recognize the importance of integrating health initiatives and vocational training, particularly for women and adults who often lack a voice in their communities.
We firmly believe that quality education improves not only individual lives but also the broader economy, as skills development and sustainable socio-economic activities empower communities to achieve self-reliance and autonomy.
In this spirit, we warmly invite donors and volunteers to join us in improving educational standards across Sub-Saharan Africa. Your time, resources, and support will make a lasting impact on the lives of children, adults, and communities striving for a brighter future.
Thank you for joining us in this vital mission.
